Yoomi – Breastfeeding friendly bottle

Yoomi

IMG_6719

Selling point for this milk bottle is the self warming system.

  • Warm up milk in 60sec
  • Milk temperature at a perfect 32-34’C
  • Anti colic & nipple resemble teat
  • 100% BPA free

When I first told my husband that I want to purchase this milk bottle, my husband was much skeptical about it. The very first thing that he asked is, why do I need this?

In my opinion, this invention is actually to replace the warmer. Instead of warming up the milk using the warmer, one can straight use this bottle to warm and feed directly – in a much shorter time too!

I would want to share out my review of Yoomi as follows.

  • Should I buy Yoomi?
  • How to use Yoomi?
  • Is it safe to use? I am afraid it may scald my baby or even electrocute my baby!
  • Is it difficult to wash and how many components there are?
  • My experience
  • Useful Video & FAQ

Hope my review helps.

Medela PISA Vs Spectra S1 – Medela and Spectra breast pump reviews blog

 Medela PISA Vs Spectra S1

6093730023

pnsa pump(2)

This is sharing from a singapore mummy, Audrey Yeo which I obtained from a FB group administrated by her. I learn a lot from this group and thus would like to share the review as follows. You may also join her FB group to get more updates and notifications.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/401286426675718/

Features

S1 is a hospital grade pump.

It has a very unique suction where it vibrates ur nipple during suction, triggering your letdown to come faster and also helps to stimulate milk production unlike other pumps which will just pull and release.

It allows you to customize your pumping experience. You can set the suction power and suction duration separately. It is Close System, has a timer(auto off at 30mins) and night light(under handle) to make it easier to pump at night. Has a massage button to help achieve a letdown faster. In-built rechargeable battery which can last around 3 hours of pumping

PISA  is medela’s best normal range pump with the strongest suction. It is an Open System.

It starts off with 2mins of fast suction before it changes to slower longer suction automatically. It comes with a detachable battery pack which requires 8-10AA batteries.

PISA  Cycle: 48-74, stimulation at 117 (12Levels)

S1 Cycle: 38-54, stimulation at 70 (12 Levels)

Experiment made on PISA Level 8 Vs S1 Level 6 (based on the same suction strength and cycle) for 6 sessions each pump.

PISA Cycle: 48, Stimulation 117

S1 Cycle: 46, Stimulation 70

Time taken: 20mins

End results: S1 have an average of 30ml of extra yield as compared to PISA.

Comparison:

S1 weighs 1.12kg and PISA is 1.95kg(1.6kg without batt).

S1 is much quieter than PISA

S1 have separate individual setting for suction strength and duration, PISA has a JOINT suction strength n duration setting.

PISA with eneloop rechargeable battery can last more than 15pumping sessions, S1 last around 3hours of pumping session.

S1 is much bulkier than PISA.

Verdict

S1 is more suitable for people whose concern is more about increasing yield and also to have a more comfortable pumping experience as u can control the suction strength n duration individually. It is also suitable for mummies co-sleeping with their babies as it is a very silent pump. Recommended for Home use, in the Car, and Office use. S1 is also suitable for people who are more concern about budget as it is around 50% cheaper than PISA.

PISA is more suitable for pumping on the go, or for traveling as u will not need to worry about not having enough battery charge as it is very convenient to get AA batteries in convenience store. It is also suitable for people who are more brand conscious as Medela has been a trusted brand and it has a service centre in Toh Guan.

(Experiment conducted by Drey Drey Yeo)

S1 is a hospital grade pump.
It has a very unique suction where it vibrates ur nipple during suction, triggering your letdown to come faster and also helps to stimulate milk production unlike other pumps which will just pull and release.
It allows you to customize your pumping experience. You can set the suction power and suction duration separately. It is Close System, has a timer(auto off at 30mins) and night light(under handle) to make it easier to pump at night. Has a massage button to help achieve a letdown faster. In-built rechargeable battery which can last around 3hours of pumping.

M1 is a normal usage pump.
It has the same unique vibration suction like s1, just that the vibration is much faster for m1, therefore it might not be noticeable.
It has a Joint suction power/suction duration control, as u increase the suction power, the suction duration will also get longer. It is Close System and will auto switch off at 30mins. Has a massage button to help achieve a letdown faster. In-built rechargeable battery which can last around 1.5 hour of pumping.

Comparison of S1 Vs M1:
S1 is 1.12kg and M1 is at 300g
S1 is much bulkier(C:64cm, H:19cm), M1(C:37.5cm, H:7cm).
S1 battery last longer.
S1 may be able to help achieve more yield due to its unique suction.
S1 is much silent than M1.
S1 has stronger suction power.
M1 empties the breast much faster due to its longer suction duration(lv3,4,5)

Verdict:
S1 is more for serious pumping where your concern is more about increasing yield and also to have a more comfortable pumping experience. Recommended for Home use and Office use.
M1 is very portable due to its size and weight. It can empties the breast much faster due to it’s long suction duration, good for people who need to get pumping done in a short duration. Recommended for pumping on the go or for multi tasking(cooking, playing with kids while pumping).

Usana Malaysia Review Ep 1 Calcium, BiOmega, Essentials & Nutrimeal – Price

These came to my door way yesterday and I paid my friend RM343 (price excl the Nutrimeal as she let me try).

usana

She purchase on behalf as a member price (yes, it is freaking expensive) and mind you, this can be finished as fast as 14days to 60days. Why I say so? As breastfeeding mum, I have desired minimum dosage that I would like to meet (read it here) thus,

  • Calcium RM76 – RM0.68 / tablet – 2 tablets x 3 times / day
  • BiOmega RM89 – RM1.59 / tablet – 2 tablets x 2 times / day
  • Essentials RM179 – RM1.00 / tablet – 2 tablets x 3 times / day

These will cost me about RM16.44/day! Ouch!

In addition to this, I am drawn to try out one of the most hu-ha product of Usana, Nutrimeal that cost RM121. This pack recommended serving is 9. Coming to.. RM13.44 / serving..

Think about this, I am gonna spend RM29.88/day equal to RM896.40/month. An average fresh grad pay in Malaysia is RM2,600/month so who gonna spend 34% of their pay on supplement?! Bear in mind, with this amount of money you can pay for a RM50k – RM70K car installment – Myvi for instance.

However, taking the price aside, I am taking this supplement because it is really really good. Well, you get what you pay after all. I have testify how it improved my breast milk here. In addition, I also find that my health improved as I get sick lesser and have better skin complexion.

In fact, there are a lot of MLM product in the market that are sold at a much lower price because they do not spend much on advertisement and marketing which I do not know why Usana still so expensive. Or maybe everything import become expensive in Malaysia? LMAO Therefore, the only reason I can console myself why I am paying such a premium price is, the quality. I research a lot about the product and company. Review is really good. I share my references as below.

Well, if you afford, why not Usana? Or another method to afford yourself for this premium quality supplement is by joining the member.

My review on the online stores :)

I have purchase quite a fair bit of product online and so far my survery for the stores are as follows:

Maternity cloths

http://www.mammahouse.com/

Most of the productst that I obtained from mamahouse are their pants which cost about RM40-50 per pant. It last me about 6months (from week 14 onwards). The quality of the pant have nothing to shout about because of the 3 pants I bought, I left with one only (2 spoilt). Perhaps it is due to my washing machine.. Not too sure..

Bought mostly working cloths and tops. Nothing to shout about as it is plain normal tops. Dresses are too expensive for me as most of it cost RM100 and above.

http://my.topshop.com/ and also from Topshop midvalley physical stores.

Bought the most cloths from tops, pants, leggings, dresses and working cloths.

However, I spend a fortune on topshop because their maternity range is not cheap!
