Sanrio Hello Kitty Land, Johor Malaysia – Travelling tips with my toddler and baby

Hello Kitty Land, Nusajaya Johor Malaysia

Long weekend getaway

I decided to visit Hello Kitty Land during one of the long weekend because it is near (approximate 3 hours drive from KL) and it is indoor.

Well, since there are not much review, I decided to share a few tips and information with you.

Useful information

Best time to visit:

  • Weekend will be Sunday and Weekday will be Mon – Thurs due to Johor weekend falls on Friday and Saturday which is different from other states – no school days means less crowd 🙂

How long does it takes to visit:

  • One day trip could cover up the 3 floors of theme park well
  • Do arrive early says 10am in the morning (soon as they start) and do enjoy till the very last moment 6pm

Where to dine:

  • They have pretty good choices of cafes and restaurant in the building itself so do not worry
  • Price range from MYR8 could get a decent meal

Breastfeeding and baby friendliness:

  • Shame, not breastfeeding friendly
  • NIP is NOT NOT common in Malaysia so do remember to bring a nursing cover

Attraction and activities:

  • It is mainly divided into 2 areas; Hello Kitty and the Big playtime
  • 3 floors covers 2 theme and 3rd floor is the theme park
  • Long list of shows, activities and parade so do plan well to full enjoy every shows! Make sure you do not miss any of them! Click here for my itinerary tips

How much does it cost:

  • Ticket for kids priced at MYR 55, adult for MYR75
  • Maid consider as foreigner rate ya

What to expect:

  • Cold – remember to bring jacket for you kids especially if you are visiting on a off peak day
  • Small snacks and water for the kids – not convenient to go in and out to purchase food as the staffs need to keep checking your tickets
  • BF gadget as it is a non BF friendly place
  • Socks – need to wear it at the play area

Yoomi – Breastfeeding friendly bottle

Selling point for this milk bottle is the self warming system.

  • Warm up milk in 60sec
  • Milk temperature at a perfect 32-34’C
  • Anti colic & nipple resemble teat
  • 100% BPA free

When I first told my husband that I want to purchase this milk bottle, my husband was much skeptical about it. The very first thing that he asked is, why do I need this?

In my opinion, this invention is actually to replace the warmer. Instead of warming up the milk using the warmer, one can straight use this bottle to warm and feed directly – in a much shorter time too!

I would want to share out my review of Yoomi as follows.

  • Should I buy Yoomi?
  • How to use Yoomi?
  • Is it safe to use? I am afraid it may scald my baby or even electrocute my baby!
  • Is it difficult to wash and how many components there are?
  • My experience
  • Useful Video & FAQ

Hope my review helps.

Postpartum Hair Loss solution review

Postpartum Hair Loss

This is what happen every single time I combed my hair. I was so scare that I stop combing my hair and to the extend I dread of washing my hair! I feel like I am under going chemo looking at the rate my hair is falling!

My first baby was not this bad and people tell me normally second baby hair loss will be worse. But really? This bad?

Well, let go about why this happen? It is said that during our pregnancy, we do not lose hair or so called our hair was “freezed” therefore, our “freezed” hair fall out post pregnancy (which is supposed to fall during our pregnancy?).

I tried all mean of ways to keep myself from being bald – still trying hard now 😦

What I do:

  • Let you hair go loose

I no longer tie my hair now as I notice my hair falls more when I untie them. Thus, I just let them go loose.

  • Cut your hair short

Longer hair = more weight = prone to lose more hair. I cut my hair short after my confinement (my hair is in fact longer during my confinement – funny kan?)

  • Hair care product

You won’t believe how many type of shampoo I tried.

This is not all. I have tried I think almost 10 different brands. So far Nioxin is the best. I prevent my hair from falling that much. Pantene is MYR12.90, BC is MYR35, Avalon is MYR 28, Nioxin is MYR100. Well, if you compute according to MYR/ml vs value for money, I would say Nioxin. Nioxin give me almost immediate result where I can visibly see less hair fall out. Also, the smell is much better than others. It give a faint mint smell which is quite good actually.

I also tried this. MYR 60. It helps so far. This is my first try for hair toner.

  • Maintain good diet

I tried USANA multivitamin and still taking them. They consist Iron which apparently helps to prevent hair loss.

Still having bad hair fall experience now so I plan to try out a few more other brand that have good reviews. Keep in view these few products.

My personal experience is to take folic acid and multi vitamin. Also, so far Nioxin and the Optimax hair toner helps me a lot. If you have good tips do share with me 🙂

You can purchase shampoo from iHerbs too

Birthday party idea – DIY with cupcakes, party bags with budget in KL

Happy Birthday to you 🙂

ff bear cake 1

#throwback post

Rara was approaching one year old birthday in December. Hoping to give her a beautiful themed party of Forever Friend. I start searching for birthday cakes, cup cakes and all party items such as party bag and desserts for the dessert bar.

There are a few that I shortlisted which is good and value for money (mind you – i did not say it is cheap).

Birthday cake and cupcake – often if the baker bake cakes, they do have cup cake come along

Review: I personally engage Agnes for twice! Her fondue cupcake is not too sweet and the design is nice. Price wise is the cheapest I can find in town for the quality she deliver. Cupcake 3D about RM4.5 and 2D is RM4. Cake two layered come with 5 3D cupcake matching theme RM500. I gave her the design I wanted and this is what I get. You can judge whether worth it or not!

Birthday planner – meaning they do everything and you just enjoy the party

Review: A lot of my friend engaged Yvonne Fong. She charge around RM2000++ depends on what you want. She have standard package to offer and also prove vary with your needs. IMO, worth it if you do not have time to do it. I personally DIY my party except for food.

Birthday printing – they design and provide printing for everything you need

Review: I DIY. Used free template that I can find online and design most of it using powerpoint and print it myself. For sticker for the jellys, I bought sticker paper off rack (easily found from Popular) and print them.

Birthday catering – I prefer less oily and fried food also, they have food testing

Review: Food is nice and they have variety of food menu. Went for food tasting prior the birthday and food taste exactly the same for the event day except the vege is overcooked. Overall, it is value for money I would say.

Birthday dessert – Egg jelly is something new I found

Review: If your child is dairy allergy this will be awesome! Jelly cake 🙂 You can see the egg jelly here!

Indoor playground in KL & Johor – Birthday party with Jkids

My forever running #longlifebattery two year old Rara is absolute full of energy that nobody can cope with! I always imagine to:

  • bubble wrap her so that she can safely play herself
  • bring her to a place that is fully sponge from roof to the floor so that she can jump all around and fall in whichever way and still won’t get injured

Yes. I wish so I Googled.

Jkids 1

Jkids at Paradigm, PJ

Jkids 3

FunFunLand in Kluang

Indoor playground which is getting popular since 2012 in Malaysia attracted me. In fact in 2013, I been one at Kluang, Johor called FunFunLand. But at that time Rara is still young so I can’t really feel much fun out of it. Decided to give it another try this round since baby Issac is gonna have his birthday party at Jkids in Paradigm Mall.

My experience with Jkids.

First impression, clean and new. Rara actually got so excited as there are many kids running around. She actually get in with the crowd pretty fast and enjoy all the slides and rides. Yea, there are like 2 or 3 rides there.

What to remember to bring are water and socks. No entrance allowed if you do not bring the socks. If you forgot, you may purchase one there. It cost around RM5 / pair (quality is not so good for the RM5 that you are paying).

I notice there are a few maids that bring the kids there without the parents around. According to the supervisor, it is rather common as some mothers will go shopping nearby that floor. Then my next question is, will the maid leave the kids there and run away or even what more horrid, running away with the kids? She say normally the mother will inform them so that they will keep an eye on the maid and kids. Not allowed to leave unless the mother come and pick up themselves. Guess, it is up to the mum how she perceive the “risk” in this case.

Jkids 6

Baby Issac party was fun! The food is decent and the cake is fabulous. Issac mummy order buffet and add on some dessert such as the layered jelly egg.

Jkids 7

  • The ticket entrance is RM30 per pax for unlimited playtime. Guardian(s) enter for free
  • The operating hour is almost same with the mall (10.30am to 9.30pm)
  • Enter with sock is must
  • Guardian(s) must always be in the premise
  • Suitable for 6mo to 9 years – in my opinion

The party cost start from RM500 and depends on how many packs and type of food you order. Of course this exclude decoration. They do have table, chairs and a simple banner if you want.

Review: Value for money 4/5. Clean and new. But a bit too pack during weekend. Good party place for young toddler.

Medela PISA Vs Spectra S1 – Medela and Spectra breast pump reviews blog

 Medela PISA Vs Spectra S1

pnsa pump(2)

This is sharing from a singapore mummy, Audrey Yeo which I obtained from a FB group administrated by her. I learn a lot from this group and thus would like to share the review as follows. You may also join her FB group to get more updates and notifications.

S1 is a hospital grade pump.

It has a very unique suction where it vibrates ur nipple during suction, triggering your letdown to come faster and also helps to stimulate milk production unlike other pumps which will just pull and release.

It allows you to customize your pumping experience. You can set the suction power and suction duration separately. It is Close System, has a timer(auto off at 30mins) and night light(under handle) to make it easier to pump at night. Has a massage button to help achieve a letdown faster. In-built rechargeable battery which can last around 3 hours of pumping

PISA  is medela’s best normal range pump with the strongest suction. It is an Open System.

It starts off with 2mins of fast suction before it changes to slower longer suction automatically. It comes with a detachable battery pack which requires 8-10AA batteries.

PISA  Cycle: 48-74, stimulation at 117 (12Levels)

S1 Cycle: 38-54, stimulation at 70 (12 Levels)

Experiment made on PISA Level 8 Vs S1 Level 6 (based on the same suction strength and cycle) for 6 sessions each pump.

PISA Cycle: 48, Stimulation 117

S1 Cycle: 46, Stimulation 70

Time taken: 20mins

End results: S1 have an average of 30ml of extra yield as compared to PISA.

S1 weighs 1.12kg and PISA is 1.95kg(1.6kg without batt).

S1 is much quieter than PISA

S1 have separate individual setting for suction strength and duration, PISA has a JOINT suction strength n duration setting.

PISA with eneloop rechargeable battery can last more than 15pumping sessions, S1 last around 3hours of pumping session.

S1 is much bulkier than PISA.

S1 is more suitable for people whose concern is more about increasing yield and also to have a more comfortable pumping experience as u can control the suction strength n duration individually. It is also suitable for mummies co-sleeping with their babies as it is a very silent pump. Recommended for Home use, in the Car, and Office use. S1 is also suitable for people who are more concern about budget as it is around 50% cheaper than PISA.

PISA is more suitable for pumping on the go, or for traveling as u will not need to worry about not having enough battery charge as it is very convenient to get AA batteries in convenience store. It is also suitable for people who are more brand conscious as Medela has been a trusted brand and it has a service centre in Toh Guan.

Medela Freestyle Vs Spectra M1 – Breast pump reviews blog

Medela Freestyle vs Spectra M1

This is sharing from a singapore mummy, Audrey Yeo which I obtained from a FB group administrated by her. I learn a lot from this group and thus would like to share the review as follows. You may also join her FB group to get more updates and notifications.

M1: It has a very unique suction where it vibrates ur nipple during suction, triggering your letdown to come faster and also helps to stimulate milk production unlike other pumps which will just pull and release.

It has a Joint suction strength/suction duration control, as u increase the suction strength, the suction duration will also get longer. It is a Close System and will auto switch off at 30mins. Has a stimulation button to help achieve a letdown faster. In-built rechargeable battery which can last around 1.5 hour of pumping.

Freestyle: It has a Joint suction strength/suction duration control, as u increase the suction strength, the suction duration will also get longer. It is a Close System.

It starts off with 2mins of fast suction before it automatically changes to slower longer suction. You can undo long suction by pressing the letdown button. It has an lcd screen with timer. It comes with an internal battery that last around 3hours.

Freestyle Cycle: 50-80, stimulation:112 (9Levels) M1 Cycle: 24-38, stimulation:64 (5 Levels) M1 weighs 296g, Freestyle weighs 364.5g M1 is much quieter than FreestyleM1 last around 1.5hours, Freestyle last around 3hours. M1 is slightly bulkier than Freestyle.

EXPERIMENT: Freestyle Level 7 Vs M1 Level 2 (based on the same suction strength) for 2 sessions each pump[fyi, 2 sessions is enough torture already]

Freestyle Cycle: 50, Stimulation 112 M1 Cycle: 38, Stimulation 64 (This is the closest setting that i can set) Time taken: 20mins

End results: Freestyle gave me Major Blocked Ducts!! My Yield Decreased by 120ml from the usual 470ml. In absolute pain and depression!

Thankfully m1 managed to help me unblock the ducts with its very long suction. As a blocked duct saver, i manage to unblock everything in just 15mins(the pump after 1st freestyle trial and 20mins the pump after 2nd freestyle trial). Under normal circumstances, i manage to get my usual yield in only 10mins..

Freestyle’s suction is very surfaced, concentrate on just the nipples. But m1 sucks very deeply that u can feel all the way right under the areola, where all the milk ducts are. Thus m1 can draw a lot of milk during letdown. Thus its recommended to use low strength during pumping and only increase the strength when letdown occurs..

M1 is more suitable for people whose concern is more about emptying their breast, preventing blocked ducts and also mummies who need to get their pumping done as fast as possible due to time constrain.. It is also very pocket friendly as it cost just around $200.

Freestyle is more for people who needs longer battery span and it has a belt clip. It is also suitable for people who are more brand concious as Medela has been a trusted brand and it has a service centre in Toh Guan.

If you have a lot of money, u can buy freestyle for show too. Its also a good tool to disturb the ever so peacefully sleeping hubby(not fair!!). Since it results in lower yield, it should be a good pump to use when i wanna stop breastfeeding.. ;p

Freemie Malaysia Singapore – Medela Freestyle

Freemie 000

Freemie, accoding to the website – is not compatible with all types of pumps which include Medela FS. However, I still want to give a try. Thank god, my Freemie (Medela Kit) and backflow protector works well.

My review on Freemie and Medela FS.

How to connect my Medela FS to Freemie?

This picture shows how Medela FS is being connected to the Freemie. As you can see, it use back the same tube and merely attach it to the backflow protector and then to the Freemie tube.

You can purchase either Avent or Spectra brand. Mine is Spectra that cost me around MYR40.

Must I buy backflow protector?

No. A lot mummy say they are ok without but I am afraid of backflow so I just buy in case. My experience tell me that when i bend over nearer to my monitor, I tend to have backflow so i guess it depends on individual.

Freemie FS 1

How to use my Freemie?

I do not use any special or nursing bra but a larger size of bra (upgrade one more cup size) with no padding. Put on the Freemie onto your breast, having the nipple fit into the hole and ensure your bra support the Freemie fitly. I am using a 25mm size Freemie. Make sure you got the correct size for better performance.

You can try to bend a little when you have attached your Freemie. If it does not move away from your nipple then it is fine.

How much BM can Freemie fit?

I yield about 2-3oz each side every 3 hours so i hope no problems with the cup size. Each cup can fit 8oz.

How to determine the size of Freemie to buy?

Initially when I order, I goes like, “Cup C please.” and she goes like, “Urm, we only have 25mm 28mm..” LMAO So shy! It does not matter you are a A or G cup. They have only one cup size FYI. So, please order size according to your nipple size.

Will I look weird with the fake boobs?

This is my concern too! This vidoe can give you a rough estimate of how much your boobs will being “enlarged” to. For me, as I have an Asian boobs so I do enjoy having a bigger boobs for a while. It looks fine on me.

Where to buy and how much?

I purchase mine from Pump love – a reseller I found in facebook. Another reseller is BingBling SG. base in Singapore and also Pump Love base in Malaysia. Another alternative is buy from Amazon of course, this is cheaper that reseller. But so far as I know, Pump love is the first and only authorised reseller in Malaysia when I purchase my freemie.

Bought mine for MYR329 and inclusive of the backflow protector. I get additional 10% discount during their promotion period. Lucky me 😛
